Get the design software

The design software is open source. Its code and its own instructions are public at github.com/utah-MFDA/openmfda_flow.

It runs on your own computer, and setting it up needs the command line: you install it and run it by typing commands into a terminal.

Who makes it

The Microfluidic Design Automation (OpenMFDA) project at the State of Utah Center of Excellence for Biomedical Microfluidics, University of Utah: mems.utah.edu/research/mfda.

What you can use now

To build one kind of part in your browser today, use the simple-chip makers: a straight channel, a chamber chip and a droplet junction. They make designs for the grid you choose: the BYU printer’s (7.6 µm), the Phrozen Sonic Mighty 12K’s or your own.
